Description
A friend of mine had gone through a terrible divorce, and I had found a series of bones hiking. I figured the bones were a good fit for the end of the relationship. On the male face's side of the painting, the words: "Until Death Do Us Part, I Will Always Love You" appear. On the female's: "Forgive me, even if I won't." This piece allowed me to express my relatively new disgust for marriage. If marriage doesn't exist, neither does divorce. It's important to note, my disgust with marriage is purely contemporary and American. I don't understand the engrained obsession of marriage among American men and women. I admire the institution in a lot of other countries, particularly in the Middle East. Marriage in America is a joke today.
